Shotley Bridge Preschool Offer
At Shotley Bridge Preschool we welcome children 2 – 3 years of age, in our purpose designed space with dedicated toilet and changing facilities, a safe sleep zone and protected outdoor area. Children can join us the term after they turn 2.
Children 3 – 4 years of age can join our newly adapted and resourced Early Years Unit the term after they turn 3. Children already attending preschool as a 2 – 3-year-old, will automatically join our 3 – 4 year old room when they turn 3. Here children develop independence and attitudes towards learning to prepare them for starting school.
At Shotley Bridge Primary School, we believe that the environment acts as the third teacher to children. Our carefully designed spaces inspire the imagination and support development in a holistic way. The use of real-life resources and furniture, access to a range of intriguing objects and open-ended play opportunities, guided by the children’s interests, provides the canvas on which practitioners can build to maximise learning opportunities for your children.
Sessions – Term Time Only
Morning session: 9:00am – 12:00pm
Afternoon sessions: 12:00 – 3:00pm
Preschool have lunch at 11.30 and can order school lunches or bring a packed lunch.
Families can either choose:
- 15 hours: morning sessions only (Monday – Friday)
- 15 hour: afternoon sessions only (Monday-Friday)
- 30 hours: full days (Monday – Friday).
Preschool have lunch at 11.30 and can order school lunches or bring a packed lunch. We kindly ask that no nuts, sweets or fizzy drinks are included within their lunch bag.

Wraparound Care
In addition to our morning and afternoon sessions, preschool can use our wraparound offer alongside other EYFS and Y1 children. Sessions are staffed by familiar adults, who work alongside the children in preschool.
Breakfast Club: 7:45am – 9:00am (£6.00)
Stay and Play: 3:00pm – 5:00pm (£6.00 per hour)
Wraparound care can be booked and paid for on Arbor; our school payment system, which you will be signed up to before you child’s first day. Government childcare vouchers can’t be used to pay for wraparound care.
