Preschool Admissions

We are pleased to share that we are now taking applications for our 2-3 year old provision, which is opening in September 2025. We also continue to take applications for our 3-4 year old provision.

All spaces are confirmed the term before your child is due to start Shotley Bridge Preschool, please ensure you complete the correct form to indicate when you wish for your child to be admitted.

Shotley Bridge Preschool operates within Shotley Bridge Primary School. Children are eligible for places in the preschool irrespective of whether they will be applying to the school for the remaining period of statutory education.

As Shotley Bridge Preschool is a governor led provision, the responsibility for determining the admissions policy for this provision lies with the Governing Board of Shotley Bridge Primary School and all admissions are organised by the school following our Preschool Admissions Policy.

You will be notified about your child’s place the term before they can join us. We aim to inform you of this at the start of the term.

We operate a waiting list and details of this can be found in our admissions policy. Places may become available at any point within the year and children are admitted following our policy.

Being Offered a Place at Shotley Bridge Preschool

Once you have applied for a place using the online forms above, you will be added to the relevant admission date waiting list. A £50 deposit is required to secure a place on the waiting list and details of this are included on the application form. Please note that this does not guarantee your child a place.

All places are confirmed the term before your child is due to start Shotley Bridge Preschool, please ensure you complete the correct form to indicate when you wish for your child to be admitted (2-3 year old form / 3–4 year old form). Please note, that if your child has a place in our 2 – 3 year old provision, they are automatically given a place in our 3 – 4 year old provision (you do not need to complete a 3 – 4 year old application form).

Your £50 deposit will be refunded to you by bank transfer when your child is admitted to our preschool.
