I am delighted to be starting my first year as a parent governor at Shotley Bridge Primary School. I have one son at our school, currently in Year 3.
I have a strong interest in how our school operates and wish to play an active role in supporting the school to continue to be the best it can for our children. I hope to be able to represent parents to ensure that opinions and opportunities are shared.
In my working life, I have spent 20 years in the voluntary and community sector. I manage a small charity focused upon working with communities and volunteers on environmental projects looking at the improvement and use of the natural environment. Through this I understand and appreciate the important role that volunteers play in our society and want use this experience to support the development of even stronger links between parents and the school.
