Spring Term 2019
WORLD BOOK DAY 2019
It was great fun dressing up as characters from our favourite books on World Book Day. We completed many interesting literacy based activities and we heard stories from our Y6 friends. Have a look at our outfits!
Mathematical Outdoor Learning.
Using the school environment we created shapes using natural materials.
Contraction Surgery
On the 6th March, we received a letter from a ‘surgeon’, who asked us to complete a special mission to fix broken words. We had to work quickly and carefully to cut out letters and attach them back together with an apostrophe, to make a contracted word. We all dressed up as surgeons to complete our special missions. We had a fantastic and fun morning learning all about contracted words.
Autumn Term 2018
On Monday 12th November, Year 2 celebrated Diwali. We all came into school dressed in special clothes, including our own saris. We started the day by learning about what Diwali is and why it is celebrated. We made diya lamps using clay, made Diwali cards and rangoli patterns, using coloured rice. In the afternoon, a lady named Kiran came in to teach us Bollywood dancing and we enjoyed learning different moves. Before we went home, we enjoyed some delicious Indian food, including samosas, onion bhajis, naan bread and poppadoms. We really enjoyed our day and had lots of fun!
