MUSIC IN SCHOOL

DOUGH DISCO

In Reception the children are given many opportunities to listen to music. Each day in the Autumn Term they also participate in Dough Disco. The children each have a piece of playdough and they listen to the music and dance at the same time. They develop the muscles in their hands and fingers whilst having fun. Children across the school have music opportunities in the curriculum. This year, following the Charanga Music Scheme, the children in Year Two have already been learning to create sounds on a glockenspiel and play particular notes.

The children in Year 5 are learning to play the ukulele, they are learning quickly and are having fun too.

‘Samba’ is the theme of the Year 6 music lessons. This is a new addition to the curriculum and the children are enjoying the experience. Have a look at the photographs below, more will be added in due course.
