Hi, I’m Stacey. I live with my husband and two children in Medomsley. We have a dog, six chickens and an allotment to keep us busy! I work for a large telecommunications company, leading 2500 people across 5 centres of excellence in the UK.
My career started with a law degree, but very quickly I found myself changing path and I’ve had a diverse set of roles ever since. I have mainly worked across change and transformation projects or operational leadership in large corporates both in the UK and abroad.
I have recently become a co-opted governor of Shotley Bridge Primary. I wanted to become a governor because with a national role at work that involves a lot of travel, I felt a bit disconnected to my local community and I wanted to use the skills that I have learned in my career to help make an impact to support local children.
I’m passionate about inclusion and growth, with a focus on social underprivilege and gender and cultural diversity. At work I lead a programme called #norightpath which is all about career story sharing and mentoring. My story has taught me you can be absolutely anything you want to be and careers certainly aren’t linear. It’s about working hard, being curious and grasping opportunities with both hands, so I’d like to share that with the next generation, to reduce the pressure they put on themselves to create the perfect path – there isn’t one!
I’m also really proud of my Northern roots. I work with the Northern Power Women movement to raise up voices from the North and accelerate gender diversity. I have recently been added to their Future List for 2020.
